Audlem Transport Festival 06.
This was the second time that we had attended the Festival of Transport in Audlem, and the seventh time that it had been held (photos from the 2005 show can be seen here and the 2011 Festival here). Some of the cars and other vehicles from last year were in attendance again, and appear in both the 06 and 05 photo galleries. However there were also a good number of new 'faces' parked up in their respective age groups.

The entry is predominantly either classic or vintage in nature, although a few more modern vehicles are also invited (for example a Bentley or two from the nearby - Crewe - factory, and a 4200 GT Maserati). Around 270 vehicles in all were booked in, and I think the bright weather encouraged most of those who booked in to show up with their car, bike, tractor or commercial. We arrived shortly after 10 o' clock, giving us a couple of hours or so to peruse the vehicles as they arrived at the start point in Hankelow, which is just a couple of miles or so up the road from Audlem. In fact it is easier to photograph cars at the start location, than at the fields in Audlem, as you can watch them arriving if you get there early enough, before the crowds flock in.

As with last year, we enjoyed this show enormously. The organisation is good, and we both had a pleasant drive down in the vehicle convoy, this year piloting our black Austin Devon. Last year we took part in the Standard 10, but that has now gone to a new home down south.
