Blue Triumph Stag.

Stags earnt a dismal reputation for reliability in their day. Not all of it was deserved but their is no denying that the all-new 3.0 Triumph V8 engine could have used some more development work before being fitted to the handsome Stag bodyshell. Some were converted by enthusiastic owners to 3.5 Rover power and then returned to Triumph's own engine once reliability niggles had been cured. The health of the cooling system is critical in keeping a Stag running properly - just like with the Dolomite Sprint that also suffered from a lack of factory development.

The 2006 running of the Audlem Festival of Transport took place on 30th July, and was the seventh time it had been held. The Triumph Stag in this photograph was photographed during our day at this classic event held in Cheshire. All sorts of cars, motorcycles and tractors were on display, including a few light commercials for good measure. The main Audlem 2006 page has more photos of vehicles like old Triumphs, Stags and such like, so please have a good look around.
