Vauxhall Victor FB Estate 1962.
Thanks to Peter who sent the first FB photo over, which shows his father stood alongside his then-new 1962 Vauxhall Victor Estate.
Back to Car Photographs Page 1.
The FB series first broke loose in 1961, replacing the original F series Victors. The estate car could be purchased for £861, slightly less than the outgoing model, and shared much of the styling of the Victor saloon.
The estate came with stiffer rear springs, six ply 5.90x13 tyres, and a slightly lower ratio rear axle. The car shown above is an early-ish example of the FB, with the chrome radiator grille, and some styling differences to the car shown below.
Peter is continuing the family tradition of owning classic Vauxhalls - his PA Cresta appears in the Your Car Stories section of oldclassiccar, he also has his own PA Cresta site.
A 1963-on FB Victor estate car
Next, another period photo this time from my own collection, showing an FB Victor estate, registration 965 GYL. This is a 1963-onwards example, which features a revised grille arrangement and a different sidelight treatment, when compared to Peter's photograph above. Later, FD Victor estates, can be seen on this page.
