I'm looking for interesting stories, personal memories, restoration stories, dodgy deals and fun memoirs relating to motoring in what are known as classic, or vintage, cars.

This page is for stories that relate to classic cars owned by people now. Recollections of motoring from years ago, will now feature in the Motoring Memories Project on oldclassiccar.

Do you own an older car, or perhaps a fleet of 'classics' ? I'd be interested to hear about cars owned not just in the UK, but around the world. Stories featured so far relate to cars and vehicles in the UK, Australia, Canada, Malta, USA, Sweden, Africa, and France.

I've had some car stories sent over already, but more are welcomed!

I'll then feature it either on this page if it is about a classic owned now/recently, or in the Motoring Memories Project section if it relates to motoring in years gone by.

Driving lorries in years gone by
National Service that involved driving lorries, tanks, staff cars, or whatever
Bus or coach driving after the war
Driving holidays
Driving abroad, perhaps having your car flown to France by Silver City Airways
Racing in sprints or motor club events in the 1950s/60s/70s
Cars that you bought, but should have avoided at all cost!
Buying a classic today and finding that is was a lemon
The trials and tribulations of your restoration project
Running a car dealership in the 1950s or 1960s
Discovering vintage or veteran cars in the 1960s before interest in old cars really took off
Motorcycle ownership when most bikes in the UK were British built
Memories of being a trainee mechanic during the fifties or sixties
Being a traffic police driver when the first motorway was introduced
Your first car, now long gone but well remembered
