Leave aside the practicalities and the fuel costs of running an American classic in this country, I have often thought which US classic would I buy.
For many years I have admired the Chrysler/Dodge Mopar cars and the one I would buy is the 1970 Dodge Challenger with the supercharger.
Why the 1970 model?
I prefer the simpler lines compared to it's predecessors and I suppose it must also have something to do with it being the featured car in the original 1970 film Vanishing Point.

Same here.
For one reason or another I like the huge 65 New Yorker, square style, great dashboard, button gear change. A station wagon would be great.
A 55-56 Chrysler (or DeSoto or Imperial), pre-fin age, is very good looking.
Love the looks of a late forties "lead slead" Nash or Hudson.
An early postwar inline 8 cylinder would be cool too.
Ten years ago I had a 1960 Chevrolet Corvair station wagon for a short spell, had to sell that (too many cars and short on space). Still miss it because of its quirkyness, especially for an American car. Very fifties optimistic light blue metallic paint, front bench seat, 2 speed auto (!) with the gear change by a very small lever on the dash, plus of course the fantastic 6 cyl air cooled boxer in the rear. |

Muscle cars do nothing for me. Give me a practical car for reliable every-day motoring.
I ran Model A Fords for years, and have been without one since 1990, so I'd like another A please!

Although they say the Challenger is supercharged in the film, it wasn't.
