This old van belongs to my siters neighbour. No one knows what make it is, how old it is, or any history.
Does anyone know anything to alter this?

Definitely a home made caravan, lots were made in the 1940's and 50's. worth saving though.

The Ford 103E Pop wheel (or possibly E493A Ford Prefect) hint at some Ford parts hidden away under that home-grown body.

Yes , it's a garden shed ! Seriously though , my memory is shot to pieces since my stroke but this is raising flashes from the past . I may be wrong , and probably am so , but this may have come from a magazine such as "Practical Mechanics" or one like it in the late forties or early fifties . The recommended undercarriage is usually Morris , but there were a few that used Ford . Any body with the ability to make one of these home builds , would of course be capable of utilising what was available . This needs to be rebuilt , or in this case , built anew . It would be of great interest to strange people like myself who have seen all the current restorations around today .This is real caravanning , A hard tent on wheels !

I said my memory was shot to pieces ! Any possibility of seeing the hi . tch , and a couple of shots of the interior ? A view of the undercarriage would be great too , with flash of course , I have been given photo's so dark as to have put an unrestored old master to shame .

Thanks for the info supplied so far. I will get further photos next time I visit my sister, but it won't be for a month or 2.
