I am just back from a holiday in Corfu. Been there several times and always got an eye open for old cars. This time I noticed an amazing number of abandoned cars; maybe connected with the economic downturn. Someone could make a business out of turning them all into cash. There seem to be very few really interesting or old vehicles; mainly Japanese cars and pickups from the '70's and '80's.

Loads of VW's though; both the Beetle car and various forms of the van/pickup. I saw one Fiat 500 in restored condition and an interesting war department version of an Austin 8 of which more in another post. |

It had crossed my mind that there night be a business to be had in rescuing, restoring or (dare I say it?) converting these cars into scrap or parts. The place really is littered with oldish vehicles.

This makes it look like just VW's. Although there are a lot of those, I couldn't stop the scooter every time I saw something good for fear of annoying my passenger. She was patient enough as it was! |
