A Ford Squire was the first car owned by a friend of my father's.
It was a green example with the registration number DEY 747. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

The 100e shooting brake Escort was my dad's family car in the mid 1960's - awful saggy seats and really slow. It was in a drab green called Lichen Green and it looked as awful as it sounded. The engine alawys made a mournful droning sound not like my best friends dad's Morris Minor of the same age
Top speed on the newly opened M1 was just under 50mph and if it was raiining the vac operated wipers actually stopped until throttled back.
In 1967 he replaced it with a 1964 DKW F12 3 cylinder two stroke which was really modern, fast and luxurious! _________________ Rover P2
