... by preserving byegone vehicles?
The AA had a varied display at CPOP over the weekend, what other companies involved with motoring do a good job of celebrating their heritage, and as a result gain some good PR in the process? We can also include non-motoring businesses, that have either preserved or re-created vehicles that their business used in the past.

I can remember the AA motorcycle patrols, the salute and the AA telephone boxes. There are probably many companies who have kept and preserve their previous vehicles, it is good that the youth of today can look back at what perhaps Grandad drove.
Good post Rick and yet another new theme. Are themes infinite ? |

Hi
There is at least one AA box still in situ Mere, Cheshire.
Are there any others and what is in them now?
Do you still need an AA/RAC key to gain access? _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Here's a trivia question for you; what's the number of the AA box which has its own web site? |

Both Ford and Vauxhall have their own collections of old models. I know little of the Ford collection but Vauxhall houses it's own collection at Luton.
There was an article in either Practical Classics or Your Classic many years ago about the Vauxhall collection and it was then maintained by two retired production line employees.
I don't believe either collection is open to the public.
Jaguar donate new, last of the line and prototype cars to the Jaguar Daimler Trust. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

Call me cynical!... but in corporate speak "Celebrating our Heritage" translates in most cases to "Marketing" most budgets to promote events like the AA did at Cholmodeley POP will be be held by the marketing departments, to promote products rather than any nostalgia....
