I was at Gaydon in May when a few Imps turned up. It was part of their 50th Birthday celebrations.

And a few Dutch ones turned up as well.

They were a keen lot, the Dutch, as I was told that they had been up at Linwood a few days before and were coming over again in August for the National Rally.

It was a great pity that the Imp was put on the market with insufficient development.Give a dog a bad name, etc.
The mk2 was a far superior car,but the damage had been done.
The Zimp is very pretty, but probably cost at least 3 times the price of a standard Imp.Besides, was there more than 1 built?
Opinions vary, but I thought the standard Imp was actually quite a smart looking little car.Certainly much better looking than the average 1963 small car!

Great looking little cars that I have never driven.

However, my cousin won a new one in a supermarket competition. She had it for several years and it ended up upside down on a busy road. A couple of years later an uncle, (other side of the family from my cousin) bought one and that ended upside down on a motorway!

Consequently I have always viewed them with grave suspicion!

That line-up is IMPressive. I would have thought it IMPossible to bring so many of those cars together. Most cars seem to be in great condition, although I do detect the odd IMPerfection.

Sorry to be IMPertinent
