Gidday all you lovers of big iron,

I was doing some research with my old friend Mr Google and was looking for information on preparing and painting a chassis.

I followed a few of Google's suggestions until I stumbled on the below link. Not only did it give an insight into painting a chassis but a whole lot more Exclamation Not just technical tips and invaluable links (especially if you come from the Land Downunder Cool ) but also the banter is quite amusing Laughing

I became engrossed reading this thread and 2-1/2 hours later had finished.

So chaps get yourself comfortable and enjoy the read Arrow Arrow

Interesting forum, thanks for the link. The tale of the cooling fan towards the end of the thread you posted the link to, is an eye-opener to say the least.

Yes Rick quite a good forum to visit.

I was travelling back to Adelaide from the Yorke Peninsula, just north from Ardrossan, with a mate who was driving his FB Holden Station Wagon when we heard a load bang from under the bonnet accompanied by some severe vibrations. He pulled over shut down the engine then we got out and looked under the bonnet and discovered that fan had broken in a similar manner to the International. The broken section had shot straight across and impailed itself in the battery, rendering it out of service.

My mate hitched a ride into Port Wakefield and I stayed with the wagon (the lady who offered the lift wouldn't take both of us and this was in 1979 - but fair enough Rolling Eyes

He then phoned his old man and an hour and a half later we towed the FB back to Gawler some 100 odd kilometres Exclamation arriving home at around midnight. Luckily a mate of mine had an EK Holden Sedan he was stripping for parts and by lunch time next day a 'new' secondhand battery and fan the wagon was back in full flight Cool

Cheers
