He is to do with a subject we get banned for mentioning (unless we can link it to their cars). _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Back in my drag racing days we met and hung out with some of the more famous drag racing personalities. In 1977 at the US Nationals we stopped and chatted with "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. He then got out some chairs and beers and we ended up staying until they closed the track.
In 1979 I got to hang out with "Miss Hurst Golden Girl" Linda Vaughn and her Ladies for a couple hours.
I've also met Don Prudhomme, Shirley Muldowney, John Force, Gene Snow, and many others back in the day.
Once at our local track when I was driving my "Dennis The Menace" Mustang a little kid asked me for an autograph. I had never been asked before and thought some friends were pulling a joke on me. I signed his Racing Program as Dennis the Menace. After that more kids would ask every now and then. I guess I may have been a very minor local celeb for awhile.
I have photos that I'll try to find later. |

| Well I don't know if celebrity is the right word but I used to be friendly with Damon Hill in his pre F1 days, lost touch when he moved to Ireland. |

Probably about 5 years ago on a typical English summers day (i.e. freezing horizontal rain) I was standing a Druids Corner at Oulton Park watching Formula Fords splosh past when the other spectator came over and asked politely from under his kagool whether he could please have a look at my program for a minute.
Only when he handed it back and said 'thank you very much' did I realise it was Damon Hill, whom I 've always greatly admired as a person as well as a racer. (his son Josh was in the race).
It must have made an odd sight as many people, particularly my wife, say I'm the very image of the man! |

At last years Nec we were lucky enough to have Guy Martin look around our Gracie . Didn't get his autograph but we did get him to join the VOC as he owns a very special Amazon estate . _________________ 1968 Volvo Amazon estate (Gracie)

You can't say that without posting a photo of yourself!
