What's the betting this old Escort will be "restored" into a Mexico or similar rally weapon? Would it matter? after all it's already had a few mods undertaken...

In contrast it would be a shame to see this 1977 1.3ls Sunbeam with delivery mileage only, used as a donor to rebuild a Sunbeam Lotus ..

But I bet that's what will happen..unfortunately the car is probably the least desirable of the Chrysler Sunbeams, with an unfortunate 1970's odd factory colour scheme....

At the risk of receiving some negative comments, within the last 2 months, my son purchased a lovely 4 door Mk2 Escort 1300 Ghia which is now being turned into a road rally car (with some assistance from me) to be used on historic events. He has rallied 4 modern hatchbacks in the past but has always wanted an Escort but the prices are just so expensive. As he says, all being well he will never sell this car and we will both have some great fun in it.
