Frustrated!
Have a look at Ebay item 161084339669. Vendor claims that the van in the foreground is a Jowett, which it is not, but I have no idea what it actually is. It has distinvtive features:
No quarter lights
high rear door hinges
deep pressings in the sides
unusual read door windows.
Anyone recognise it?

Looks like something from the Standard - Triumph - Vanguard factory. |

Hi
It has an external seam running down the A post like a mini and also an all round gutter like a mini.
I cant howeveer find a reference to minis having wedge shaped rear windows such as those.
The Standard eight van seems to have had a high roof box back rather than a straight flow from the cab to the rear. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

If you look at the roof gutter at the rear, the way the gutter over the doors drops forward to pick up the end of the side gutters is exactly the same as Penmans link, also the sliding side windows match. |

I took the liberty of contacting the person selling this postcard letting them know that the Classic Car Forum had identified the van as a Reliant Regal (MK V or VI). I included a link to some photos and to the forum thread.
This is the reply
Dear peterwpg,
Hi Peter - wow! really impressed - great sites!
A big THANK YOU to you & the others for your help & interest
I have changed the listing to give the information you have kindly provided
Kind regards
Emily
So many times forum members spend time researching and pooling info before reaching the correct conclusion often without getting any acknowledgement that the info was appreciated.
For me, all that is needed is a "Thank you", just like Emily did.
So thank you too Emily.
