I am looking for some suppliers of Pre-war BSW nuts. Anyone used anyone?

Cheers

Locally I use www.archerdale.com
MD is Glyn Brown and is sympathetic to the historic vehicle movement - he ought to be, the business is housed in the former Scott Motorcycles Factory!

I am sure the pre-war BSW nuts are larger than the later ones. I think they cut the size down during the war to save steel. Also the steel was getting to be a better quality.

Beware the Morris Motors glitch - metric threads with BSW flats!

For the odd nut, I buy lengths of the appropriate size hex bar and make my own, this supplier in Birmingham stocks the right sized bar, helpful chap.

I have loads of large BSW taps if it helps.

Dave

PS does Buster Keaton count as a pre war nut Wink
