It is either a 350cc B31 or a 500cc B33. From the diameter of the cylinder it is most likely the 350cc B31 but it is hard to tell from the photograph.

as RB says,B31 or B33,pre-1953.

It is still listed as registered on the DVLA website
as a BSA.... 499cc:
