Steve, I've always known yours is a beauty. Were they all produced in brown and white? That is a vehicle well worth the effort. Please keep this thread well fuelled. Good luck. |

Yes it would be great to save it, but it is sooooo far gone especially
at the front. Bearing in mind there are no repair panels available, and
all the parts that are available are extremely expensive
I can't begin to imagine what this little van is like underneath if it's this
corroded on top. On mine as you know even the front lower suspension arms had rotted out.
What to do tho ~ as per opening query

Ignore the doubters
Give it a try at least. It's not that bad, no rot in the heated rear windscreen at least; only thing is can you see through it at any time never mind when it's frosty!
I had plenty of shocks with my effort:

Steve's worried that the rarity value of his little pickup is decreasing. He! he!

Hi, have had another look and wire brushed bottom arms and shock spring seats and the appear to be good. Have tapped arms with hammer and no problems. It appears the cab has suffered the worst of the corrosion. Have taken some more photos for you to have a laugh at! [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] [img] [/img] |

Hi Canner,
Thanks for the pics....
Next step is to try taking it apart, best spray all those rusted bolts with plus gas 3 weeks before you try!
Good Luck
