The film followed two of the runs as they went in opposite directions from Rugby.

The castle is Kenilworth and the ford is at the side of the castle. The road has been raised since.

I was reminded of passing my 11+ exam as the name on the frame tube of one bike was 'Phillips Vox Populi' and it was one of those bikes that was my present for passing for grammar school. It was not a lightweight bike and a few years later I had a Claud Butler 'Olympic Sprint' which was a real lightweight with an all welded lugless frame.

Ah, those were the days.

My older sister had a Vox Populi which she stopped riding when she left school. I comandeered it and used it as a basis of my first"Tracker" a pair of cowhorn handlebars, a narrow racing saddle, a 27x1 1/4 front wheel, a 26x1 1/2 back wheel with a knobbly tyre. The back brake didn't work properly the rim was the wrong shape, but it looked cool. A pink and black paint job finished it off. All the bits were second hand except the back tyre.
