A 1961 Duo Tone Morris Minor Traveller.
Very original car.....
First registered in Portsmouth.
She lived there all her life.
She lived in the same street for 42 years.
Stored in a garage for 35 years.
Genuine 44,000 miles from new.
She had never been welded or needed any welding during her refurbishment.
All mechanical components were in very good working order.
We gave her a very sympathetic refurbishment (not restoration) to make her look like new again.
Full respray inside and out.
New carpet set to the front.
New parcel shelf.
New front seat covers and foams etc. Old seat covers had splits to the front corners only, not bad for 53 year old items.
New chrome was fitted to complement the new paintwork.
The engine and gearbox whilst removed was serviced and painted to look like new again.
The brand new wheels and tyres came with another Morris Minor I purchased so we fitted them to this car. The original wheels were shotblasted and refinished. We still have the original crossply tyres in amazingly perfect condition, but will not use them.
She is Mot`d and on the road after all those years slumbering in a garage . another car saved from an uncertain future.
She is bodily and mechanically the very best original (unrestored, rebuilt, welded) Traveller I have owned or seen in a very long time.
G.F

| Looks great.... but I would rather have the car before restoration. It looked fantastic then. Sorry. |

Sunday was a bright dry day,so decided to give her a run. For a 950cc version she drove well. OK she will not break any speed records but for an original car fitted with a numbers matching original engine it would be a shame to modify her.
