Can I have some advice please.

I want to buy a reverse camera and monitor for my daily use pick up.
Which is the best one to buy - a wired or a wireless system?
The choice of ones for sale on Ebay is huge and I wondered if anybody on here has knowledge or experience of them.

I have gathered that a TFT monitor is the one to buy but as for the rest of the system I would be grateful for advice.

Thank you.

Hi
Have seen them demonstrated on buses and trucks, I would say make sure that it shows "Mirror" view, you will be used to mirror reversing so "normal" view could be confusing.

I fitted one of these to my van a couple of years ago. I put a camera on the towbar for rear vision and the other on the roof pointing down onto the towball as I have to hitch up on my own. It works fine, it is in colour and you can reverse the image as well. I wired it so that it is on without engaging reverse gear as that suited my requirements better. Seem to think that mine was more expensive as well! Rolling Eyes

Thank you for that link.

I hadn't seen that particular one.

Interesting, I've been toying with putting something similar in the truck, with the screen hidden in the glovebox out of sight unless the lid is down.

Thanks, that's an interesting read in itself.
(I've owned 2 Pajeros in the past - great vehicles)

I will just add that the one I have isn't that good at night, too many reflections, so if you need night vision then I guess you will need to pay more? Mine is useful for parking, I have a LDV 400 and by switching to the roof mounted camera I can see when the towball is getting close to the object behind. Before I had that parking was done by guesswork!
