.. well, not a rally car yet....

Following on from Ellis' recent thread about Mk1 Escorts, it seemed like high time to feature an ebay example, and few Mk1s are as original as this one-previous-owner 27,500 miles example.

It's had some paint by the looks of it, but overall a good, tidy, and increasingly rare, example of the 1300 Super.

Very nice I would say and very rare.

A "SUPER" model with the rectangular headlights and the stainless steel trims around the windows and wheel arches. Nice to look at but they encouraged rust early on.
The "SUPER" model changed to "XL" in 1971 or 1972.

A local gentleman, sadly now the late Mr Harry Ellis bought a new light blue 2 door 1300 Super in 1970 - RCA 868H. He used it only for local journeys and when he passed away in 1986 his example also had a tiny mileage on it's odometer.

His Escort also had new front wings fitted, in IIRC, 1978.

It was quickly snapped up by someone during the dispersal sale.
