Hello All
I am currently restoring a series one tourer. The body work is finished, with the chrome due back next week, and so I thought time to strip the engine……
All was going well until I dropped it and smashed the water outlet on the cylinder head (indeed a large part of the head itself came off – like when as a child you smash an easter egg)
Does anyone have or know where I could get a spare head to fit my engine it has a UB prefix?????
Any advice at all will be gratefully recieved!

Hi Tim

I may have one, it's on an engine in a s1 tourer that I intend to replace with an SE engine. Let me know if you have not sourced one, I have not taken it off the block, but there is not much to go wrong with them Smile

Dave - thanks so much for your offer, that would be great. I will PM you. I did not want to change my engine for something else really, as I have just converted to a four speed gearbox!

Hi
You may have actually saved yourself some future grief by dropping it.
Look at the discolouration and corrosion where the stud goes through, compared with the fresh surface on the rest of the break, I suspect there was already a crack there anyway.
