Sorry folks what i thought was a light hearted post has turned into personal comments on my contributions on this forum, this has left me a bad taste in my mouth,( nothing to do with your replays folks) !
Its people that read the forum but never contribute that are to blame
i have always tried to generate interest and comments on vintage
caravans , but its not working ! theres so few contributors on the forum
And its the only forum for vintage caravans ! ive just spent 10 hours outside working on my caravan resto and i can still find time to post
So thats it no more ... Happy new year Very Happy ovm

I saw it behind our local Fairway`s toy shop.

Santa was loading it up on xmas eve.

You know the one.....that's right the shop with the J 40 pedal cars, Triang metal toys and 1960`s boxed sets of Scalextric racing cars in the window.

And just inside the shop there is the huge Hot Cars display track.

Sorry to hear that Paul

Your articles were always interesting and informative. Sometimes you have to ignore negative opinions.

Paul Shocked

I hope you realise your posts about fair dinkum vintage caravans are the ones I visit this forum to see.
I don't often comment because as a 'colonial' my knowledge of the scene over there is limited but..... I keep coming back in order to learn from blokes like you ( and a few others )

Don't go mate, just hang in there, roll with the punches.

Cobber.

OVM...you are like me when it comes to our hobby and interest..

You search for caravans , I search for classic cars.

We keep our ears to the ground.
Search the adverts on the internet, magazines and newspapers looking for suitable projects.
Get dirty and tired dragging projects out of old barns etc.
Drive around the countryside looking through hedgerows for abandoned old caravans or cars.
Then spent all our time restoring them.

Yesterday I heard through word of mouth a gentleman in his eighties was selling his Morris Minor splitscreen 1953.
I was over at his house within a couple of hours and did a deal with him and his wife
They were pleased an enthusiast was interested in the car and not a dealer.

The early bird catches the worm.

I get flack and unsavoury comments on other forums on the internet if I post a barn find and some photo`s..

Are they jealous they did not find the car.?
Do they think I am loaded with money.?

Little do they know I spend all my time making these wrecks into driving cars.
I have huge electric bills, parts to purchase and tools to replace, it all costs money.

To keep my hobby in the black I have to part with some of the vehicles from time to time ( I do not like doing this ) to generate some money to buy another project.

You like me have perhaps saved more vehicles and caravans from the scrap man than most folk.

Keep up the good work.

Rise above the silly beggars who post stupid comments...I have too sometimes.
Or I get totally blanked by my postings which is also hurtful.

I feel a little guilty as I read the forum everyday but certainly don't contribute anywhere near that. I do like to add pictures but I'm not so sure about doing that from my smart phone which is how I usually read articles. Perhaps I ought to look into photo bucket more but that doesn't solve the issue that my pictures are usually on my desktop computer!
