Makes a change to see one that hasn't been restored completely, and also isn't in a thousand pieces spread across a garage floor. Low mileage and not got at, but certainly requiring resto, will the following pickup get a bid?

Starting at £3000, strong money.
No bids yet though..

It was originally grey and still has it's period radio.

Our milkman had three of these in succession, two in the same colour as this one was originally - grey. The last one was blue.
He only had one eye having lost the sight of the other in a chain saw accident and he used to part exchange the dented and battered remains of each Minor pick up for a new one every three years.

He used Toyota Hi Ace pick ups thereafter.

There's a rumour, no more than that I suspect, of a very low mileage one with a canvas tilt in a farmer's outbuilding in a nearby village.

The engine is seized and the whole vehicle needs restoring, which is a body off the chassis job.

But hang on a moment...its not that hard to restore this vehicle according to the seller.

The good point is it needs Love....I would love to haul it home on my trailer.

And it needs attention....it will get plenty of that sitting under my carport when friends turn up at my property.

That's it then.....job done, its restored.
Very Happy

I think its too much money, it needs a complete restoration, and where did the seller find that there are only 13 minor pickups?
Minor pickups are not anywhere near rare!!

Agreed on all points, I think once digging commenced there'd be a lot of work required.

If this is a realistic asking price? Rolling Eyes for an Austin Morris Minor pickup in restored condition you can see where the seller is coming from....both prices insane in my opinion.

Small vans and pick-up prices seem to have shot up in the last couple of years. They are getting very desirable.

£3K as a starting price would put me off straight away.

I feel the same. It is obvious tthat some people aren't desperate to sell when starting a price on Ebay. I put an Austin Ten on a coupleof years ago starting at 99p even though it was complete and the engine was running (well sort of). Wink
It still made it to £1250 and I was happy enough at that.

Anything I sell on ebay has a 99p start and no reserve; I'm convinced it attracts more bidders, who get carried away as the auction progresses ( always make sure you have 2 weekends in a 10 day auction hic, hic Smile. )

This morris reminded me of one I had to refuse a couple of years ago, even the colour is very similar!!
The guy wanted around 600 euros for it and it was road legal although it needed a lot of work to make it look good!!
I did not have the space for it and still don't but sometimes I really regret that decision!!
Sad

I also think that just because something is worth say £8-10K when fully restored that someone should ask so high for a start price on something that needs thousands spent. How many time do you read in an advert that 'when restored it'll be worth thousands'!! Does that mean that every wreck has the same possibility?
