I am just amazed at some of the new words that have crept into our vocabulary since I was a young man.

Now when we get the older caravan out for the weekend we are going " Glamping".

Does this mean I have to start looking like many of the music artist`s that appeared on Top Of The Pops in the early 1970`s.?

Now where are those six inch platform boots.?

Even though it's made the Oxford dictionary it's a horrible word but glamorous camping is exactly what the Carlight offers, although I prefer to view it as refined and civilised; not that there's anything wrong with simple camping before anyone thinks I may be suggesting otherwise!

If you have a 1930`s/1940`s Art Deco Caravan you are going......Decorating.

Some other infuriating words that refer to the older vehicle or items.....

Old Skool.
Retro.

A recent one I've heard lately is 'Up cycling' !!... (referring to painting an old bit of furniture or refurbishing something for re-use? )

.......and I thought it was just pedalling up a gradient ??

Maybe we're a load of "Up cyclers" on this forum and don't know it ?? Wink
