interesting, I didn't realise there was more than one 'film car', as this one appears at shows throughout the UK, seen here at Llandudno a few weeks ago:

Wonder how many were built and used in the film?? perhaps not all were driveable

RJ Question

I was wondering the same thing as I remember you posting that pic earlier.
Hopefully both are documented to show that they were both used in the film.

I think you're right Rick, the one in your picture is the Genuine one(built by Ford),owned by Pierre Picton, the Chap in the driving seat in the picture.I have spoken to him at Shows before. He used to have a Clowns car where the doors fell off etc,to cut the story short,(and what I remember)Mr Picton was asked to look after Chitty Bang Bang during Filming of the Movie.
Then when the Film was finnished he either bought or was given the car and has cared for it ever since.I'm sure he told me it was valued at around £1000,000.
There were other cars/part cars made but were not complete,(one apparently buried at the Farm in the Film???),some people have bought these incomplete ones and built them up and claim they are the Original!
If I remember rightly there is a website for the car that tells the History.
