Experts needed!
My farther had these two cars left in his garage and now we are finding out information about them. I hope you can help with information on characteristics, age and maybe prices.
Sorry for the dark images!

Austin Six - reg. number AF 88 88

Nash Ambassador
Body nr. 6228
Model 5068
Trim nr.17
Paint nr. 7

Does any know of these two cars? Cheers!

Both wonderful cars but I love the Nash. Look at those rear lamps!

i initially would've said an Austin 16/6 Tickford, but the rear is slightly different on your one...

it looks a fair size so could be a York or a Hertford or a Mayfair although that rear window and roof line are different to any of the 'drop tops' ive seen - could it have been a custom job?

The Nash is a 1949 or 50. The engine was a 235 cubic inch (about 3.9 litre) O.H.V. six cylinder. Hydra Matic transmission was an option in 1950. At that time all Nashes had a reclining front seat that converted to a double bed, this did cause some contrversy in the "Bible Belt" southern states. Nashes also had seat belts, not so much for safety but to stop sleeping passengers rolling about when the car was in motion. In 1949 Nash sold about 140000 cars placing them tenth in the sales chart.
