The Construction & Use Regulations aren't the same for vintage cars. _________________ David

And his car had fewer lights (i.e. none!) than a pre 1930's car is required to have

It would be classed as dangerous as it wasn't 'as constructed' _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

We'd better scrap the lot of them now then
BTW - 'as constructed' isn't what the regulations require. They require certain features to be present and working, there's a difference. _________________ David

Christine, with the greatest respect that is a really unhelpful comment, fournuatly in the UK we have a balanced view and governance on the originality of classic cars, and long may that continue. This chap took all the lights off his car, frankly a stupid thing to do even if that vehicle dated from Victorian times !

Plus with the bonnet removed he'd get into hot water with the Police with ref to dangers for passing pedestrians in case they ran into each other.
He sounds pretty dim to me. If he had no lights at all, then presumably there were no brake lights or flashing indicators, which I expect are a requirement for daytime use in something of that age.

Hi Rick
I had a mate who used to be on traffic in the Rochdale area, one day he was detailed to take over an organ for transplant run ,coming from Yrokshire to go to Blackpool.
He had outriders plus point duty officers on major junctions and a MK 4 Zephyr, he had the bonnet removed to make the run to avoid the front end lifting at speed he claims he did the run in well under an hr without Motorways except for a part of the M6 at Preston. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
