We stopped off today and booked a few nights away and were asked if single or twin axle and replied not sure if they made twin axle caravans when ours was made in 1967 Very Happy

Anyone know when they started to become so popular?

I remember cavalier caravans had a twin axle caravan during the mid 70's but think it was bessecarr caravans that made twin axles popular around 1984. Their cameo range at the time only had one single axle model in their line up, the rest all being twin axles. Thereafter I think most manufacturers jumped on the band wagon and offered a twin axle for their largest models. Swift and abbey also introduced twin axles and even sprite in the late 80's followed suit.

Some people swear by them saying the road handling is excellent. Personally have never towed one so couldn't say either way. Remember they were a bugger to move by hand on site though!

Of course christine, but as it's kept in a secret location and I've never seen it I actually forgot to mention it. Silly boy!
