thanks for the link Dave, only this afternoon I was chatting with someone about VOSA hovering outside with their laptops connected to the MOT database, checking cars as they drive out of the garage.

Talk about monitoring/tracking of everything we do, everywhere we go etc etc Rolling Eyes

Hi
I don't know if you have this link anywhere.
If not it might be usefully put somewhere prominent.

Its been a long time since I've taken a car for its MoT in the UK, but after just spending some time looking at these links.....you lucky people!

Compared to here, its so easy to get a car through its test... i think I'm going to move back!

A question to you all on Mot regulations.

According to them, a car fitted with a limited slip diff. should not be brake tested on rollers. Presumably this is due to the fact that the reverse loading can destroy the diff.

Doesnt therefore the same apply to a rear wheel drive car fitted with radial tyres? The carcasses of these are known to 'set' due to the forces applied through them. Doing a brake test on rollers effectivly reverses the foces, potentially damaging the carcass. Just a thought! Confused
