Hi all this is my first post on the forum looks like you guys know your stuff.
I am a lady interested many different things classic boats caravans classic outboard motors thats a bit about me ...
This week end I purchased a viking fibreline, which needs a refurb, and I had a couple of questions.
I would like to repaint it ,the sides look like aluminium, which has flaking paint
Need to strip it and clean it ,how should I do this please and what should I use,for the job. Is the roof alloy or fibreglass?
The other urgent job is the two front curved windows have been botched and I need to replace the rubber and Perspex.
Could anyone tell me the rubber seal width for the van and Perspex so I can get the right thing, and get it watertight
Many thanks in advance Liz |

Hi ,
I'm a new member, I have finally taken the plunge and bought myself a little project, actually its a really big project and I am intending to do the work myself. I have some damp issues and thought I would like to just strip my caravan back to the bare timbers etc and start a fresh. Finding it difficult to take out the furniture which seems to be all interlocked . Question - will I have to remove the outer skin to do this or is there a simple way round it that I just haven't seen? Also when it comes to re-spray I am going to do the prep to reduce the costs should I sand the pain off the Aluminium sides or use something like nitromores? the guy who owned it before me used boat paint on the side. has anyone used the compound to strengthen old fibreglass at all? for the front, back, underneath and roof
Any advise for this will be gratefully received as I keep going inside and walking out after pondering each time for about half an hour
many thanks
