Hi
Has anyone noticed their Click and collect ad?

Is there really anybody, even a youfff, who would genuinely open the engine bay cover, in error, to load luggage?

Yes, my thoughts too. A very old joke that hails from a time when foreign cars were a rarity and almost no British car within memory had had a rear engine.

Perhaps we have returned to a time where rear engines are almost unknown but equally the target audience are probably ignorant of VW beetles with rear engines so the joke is totally lost on its audience.

I haven't seen the ad, and probably never will, but Peter's comments bring to mind the story of a new VW (beetle) driver who went to put luggage in the 'boot' to find it already occupied. A bit later the same driver came across a broken down car and stopped to help. The owner of the breakdown complained that he thought that he needed a new engine.
"That's fine then," said the VW owner, "there's a spare one in the boot of my car!"

Dane,

I can remember my father telling me that joke, and he died 40 years ago!

Me too peter, but in my case it referred to a Renault Dauphine and most of these rusted away at least 50 years ago!
