Though not a big fan of Apple, with its stupid Apple-only solutions, I have become very fond of our old iMac.
6 years old now. Two years ago the hard drive went bust so another bigger one was installed, together with a cheap external hard disk drive of 2 TB.
The iMac has a very user friendly auto backup so all my pics etc are stored now on both the int HD and (automatically) the ext HD.
Besides the HD failure, there has not been anything wrong.
What I particularly like about the Mac is that there is never a worry about viruses. This afternoon I installed the new free OS version, took a little more than 1 hour and it made web browsing much faster.
I thought about replacing it with a newer machine but then thought again, why? It is still fast enough and if it aint broke .....

I dislike the iMac because of its utterly crap Finder - the internal tool for folders / files housekeeping. Win Explorer is much better for that. On the Mac I miss the easy and free Irfanview (Windows only), tool for showing / easy editing pictures. I have not come across an easy tool for the Mac, they are all much too hard to use and understand.
Also on the Mac I use Win Excel and Word because I am used to that on my work Win 8 laptop. Excel does have less options in the Mac environment but I don't need advanced Excel on my home computer.
