Hi All,

Just joined the forum so let me introduce myself.

My real name is Mike. I’m a 46 year old ex grass roots prop forward who is working successfully to turn all that 1st team muscle into fat. I’m a sales manager for an automotive wiring harness manufacturer supplying a well know Japanese car/bike manufacturer in Swindon, Turkey and Italy. Married to Anita with 2 daughters.

I have owned my Triumph Herald 13/60 convertible since 2001. She was built in May 1970 and 1st registered in March 1971. she'd had 2 owbers before me both in the Birmingham area. She was proffesionally restored in the early 90's.

I have done the following in during my ownership.

All routine servicing carried out annually as low mileage and used very little in winter months.
Dates approximate.
2001
Unleaded head fitted.
All rubber cooling system pipes replaced by new ones.
2 Static lap belts fitted for rear seats.
2 New inertia seatbelts fitted for front seats
2002
New steering column fitted.
New vertical links and trunnions fitted.
New moulded carpets fitted.
All interior mill boards replaced with new.
Stainless Steel exhaust fitted.
Alloy rocker cover fitted.
2003
Period radio that came with car restored and converted to receive FM. Lead fitted to allow Walkmans, Discmans or MP3 Players to be played through radio. Period Speaker grill re-chromed. (1968 Motorola)
Mountney steering wheel replaced by 14” flat Moto-Lita wheel.
2005
Gearbox tunnel replaced by new plastic item.
Gear stick spring, washers and bushes replaced along with gaiter.
2008
New seals fitted to clutch master and Slave Cylinders and joining pipe replaced.
Seals and pistons replaced in front callipers.
2010
2nd hand petrol tank re-sprayed and fitted along with all new flexible fuel lines.
2014
New Water pump fitted.
Braking system completely overhauled including 2 recon callipers, Both rear wheel cylinders, All flexible hoses, new master cylinder and new pipe connecting master cylinder to 4 way split.
New anti-roll bar link fitted.
New track rod end gaiters fitted.
New steering rack gaiters fitted.
Electric windscreen washer pump and switch fitted.

But mostly I enjoy driving round the countryside with the roof down.

I have a blog on the "practically classics" forum if anyone is interested in a more detailed description of my ownership.

I have recently found myself developing and interest in pre war cars and this forum seems to share that interest as well as all that modern stuff from the 50's 60's and 70's! Smile

Looking forward to chatting with you all here.

Regards

Mike
