A visitor to the OCC Facebook page asked the following question:
----------------
My parents formerly owned a Blubird caravan which they had sited at Lowestoft North Denes caravan site from the early 1960's until the early 2000's.
It was approximately 22' long with the boat shaped roof and wave shaped window shades. It had 2 windows on the door side and from what I understand, it was one of a few that were built to be lived in rather than to be used for regular towing. The whole interior was wood panelled which my mother polished and there was a bath under the bed in the end room.
My parents had to part with the van when the site was shut down by the local authority. I would like to try and find out what happened to the van (I expect it has since been scrapped) but in case it is still out there, I wonder if anyone knows where it went? Failing that, does anyone know if there is a similar van in a public collection anywhere? I would like to take my sons to see one as they are too young to remember the Bluebird. It was like our second home when me and my siblings were growing up and I have very very happy memories of whole summers spent in it. I can remember the smell of the wood polish that hit you as you entered the van.
Its a long shot I know, but just wondered if anyone can help. Thanking you again for allowing me to post here. _________________ Rick - Admin
