Hi there I have a strange request and hope that somebody on here will be able to help me out.
My father is 84 years old and not in good health. He was in the transport industry for all his working life.
Over his working life he owned most types of British lorry, Dennis, Austin, Bedford and Ford are the ones that spring to mind.
His favourite of all of these was a 7V ford furniture van that was, I think, fitted with a side valve V8 engine. This was the first van that he bought on his own and was also the vehicle that he courted my mum in!
As we are coming up to the festive period and it has become increasingly hard to find a present for an octogenarian, I was wondering if any one on this site has, or knows of, somebody that has a 7V that could be hired with a driver to give my father a blast from the past.
If you can help please contact 07830117157.

Cheers, Derek

I've a feeling that an occasional poster on here has a 7V, it may be worth doing a search. It may be also worth contacting the HCVS.

No idea where you are, but Specialised Movers in Sheffield have an E83W based removal van, I thought they had a ford V as well but the only pictures that I can find on line are of a Guy Vixen.

Forum member teddyboy posted about his a few years ago, it may be worth dropping him a note to see if he has any contacts, or can help.

I live in Bedfordshire but Mum and Dad are in NW London. I will give the HCVS a go but I am hoping that somebody on this forum will come up trumps!
Cheers Derek.
