When we moved out here (2013) the house came with 10's of acres of land. Around the house the land has been cleared and we knew it was once farmed.
A few days back I got talking to the great grandson of the original owner, he said his grandfather and father cleared the land with their Ford Model T.
He could remember his father saying that they would take off the road wheels and fit big metal tractor wheels on the back but knew little else,
Who can resist a "google" search.

I copied photos of the "Pullford" and have just shown them to him. The family had very little money and apparently granddad also cut the back off the Ford to make it into a truck.
The family didn't have a camera until the 1930's and there are no known photos. |

There were very many after-market tractor conversions for the Model T. There was an amazing range of accessories made specifically for the car, from very small gadgets to truck conversions and even adaptors for driving in the snow. You might find this thread of interest-

Well, Peter, there is no time like the present to set off 'junk hunting'. There is no telling what you might find, either as an old-time conversion, or merely something that is not really restorable as is, but could be the basis for a nice home conversion. _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |
