Hi All, new member here - I run a website on cars that were in Rhodesia (or currently are in Zimbabwe) with pages for Kenya and a few other countries that are currently under construction - I would love to hear from anyone who owns, has owned any such cars, or who has info or photos of such cars - Esp pics of the cars in Africa.

I am especially interested in Rolls-Royce and Bentley in Africa, a subject I have been researching for 18 years.

The website is www.classiccarsinrhodesia.co.za

Many thanks for your help

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the forum.

I haven't spent much time looking through your website yet but on sampling the Jaguar section you have clearly put in a lot of research. (I know Nigel Tucker and his MkV.)

Thanks for posting.

Peter

My word!

How long did it take you to compile all that information and present it so well on your forum ?
Comprehensive is an understatement.

Can I ask you is the Zimbabwe government sympathetic to classic car ownership?

Thanks Ellis - The website has been up four years but I was collecting info on and off for some time before that -

I am based in Wales, but there would not appear to be any issues with owning Classic Cars in Zimbabwe - Certainly none of my contacts have mentioned anything

Regards

Wayne

Brilliant website. I have only had a quick look, but I noticed the white Cadillac is not a 1968 model but a 1970. Over the years several cars of American origin have been imported to the U.K. from various southern African countries.

Hi Rick
There is a thread somewhere which features photos of quite a few cars in Africa.
