Hey chaps! here's a good restoration project? I have seen it advertised somewhere before, or something similar.
It's somewhat later than a 10/4 according to the rad but who knows what the rest may be made up from.

Hi Don, I've seen this before on ebay - what is your opinion of its 'correctness', I did wonder if it was a cut down saloon? especially being a 4 door, and not having any sign of a hood with it...?

This is how it should have looked before the 'old bill' got hold of it.
I believe it has been mis-described on the photo caption, found on the net, which is possibly where the seller got it from.
I was unaware that the description 10/4 went beyond the chrome rad models but I may be wrong?
One point, if anyone is thinking of buying it: There was a weakness in the block of the ten range and any frost damage always cracked the block just above the 'Austin' moulding. As the picture shows; this has happened 'big time' on this particular example.

There is an outside chance that it may have been a Litchfield, cut down, but it certainly has the appearance of the mid-30s 'Open road' model. 'Open road' bodywork was used from the seven upwards.

Interesting that the car in your photo has suicide rear doors, whereas the ebay car has normally hung doors. However the ebay car does seem to have recesses in the tops of the doors, and clips on the screen, that could have been for a folding roof and sidescreens, so maybe it did start out as a ragtop. Sorry looking condition now though....

As for 10 blocks, yes I know all about cracks in them, mine has a very vintage repair to it, consisting of many many small bolts and a piece of metal over the affected area. Doesn't seem to have leaked since though!

Didn't spot the door handles, must be getting old, perhaps it has been made to look politically correct fot the 'Old Bill'?
Yes, most blocks have this crack but if it isn't too bad you can get away with 'Radseal/Bars Leaks' etc'.
