He would have been sacked before he managed to get a design out! The Mini lost money, that's not the Ford way, look how long the Edsel brand lasted.
That aside, it probably would have had a sidevalve and transverse leaf suspension  |

I agree - they were so conventional and not at all innovative he never would have stayed. How they managed to pioneer McPherson strut front suspension in 1950 is a wonder - I suppose on a monocoque it must have been cheaper than bulky subframes (the cheap Mini rear apart) though the Morris did without both and just used torsion rods _________________ Rover P2
