Bootsaler, what an absolutely fantastic collection of photos. Never seen so many new (unseen) images of J Types in one set. Thanks very much indeed for sharing them!!!

Is Mr G LE-Gresley still with us?

Very interesting pics - any more please post. Thanks.

Our national English language newspaper, The Bangkok Post, published a picture of Harrods Ice Cream van in the store. The title was "Christmas comes early at Harrods" to help launch their Christmas World section. And carrying the somewhat dubious caption "Often licked never beaten". The van looks remarkably like a 'J' Type.

I'm new to this forum - I have a pic of what I think is a 'J' Type (fixer upper) which I would post but haven't worked out yet how to post pics ....

Oops ! Sorry about the double send - I got a screen message saying the send did not work - but obviously, it did - twice !

Also checked FAQ's which said that pics cannot be posted on the forum. And yet, we have that mass of lovely pics of ice cream vans.

How do you do it please ? MalcolmL Chiangmai Thailand

Hi MalcolmL, welcome to the forum - if you have a look at this thread, it'll give some pointers on how to post an image:

Here are some photos which may be of interest to subscribers to this forum. I learnt about this van from a photo in our local daily English language rag 'The Bangkok Post'. Then I googled Harrods of London Christmas World website which carried about 10 pics of the van. You are asked to login to the site - probably for anti identity theft reasons. It's a simple enough request - your name and password. But it didn't work for me even after trying 5 times. So I proceeded to copy the pics myself and store them. Here they are ...... for your enjoyment.
Is it a J Type or a 101 ? MalcolmL
