What a shame if that got crushed, its damaged badly but still worth repairing when considering how much they fetch.
Oh and by the way tell the author of that article that its not a sports car but an american muscle car!!

The police should be able to trace the owner through Customs & Excise records, but I suppose that's too difficult for them Rolling Eyes

Maybe another slant on this.

If you drive a car around on U.S plates, no insurance or tax and you hit something. If you couldn't afford the tax/ins you sure as heck can't afford to have this thing repaired.

No comment about the date "tags" on the licence plate.

There's nothing to suggest that this vehicle was being used on the road by the owner - the suggestion is that he may think it is still safely garaged and is unaware it has been stolen.

Looks as if the mystery won't lay down.

Several press reports, all with roughly the same text, state that a Carol Cameron, from Idaho, sold the car in October 2014 via an online auction to someone in the UK. A photo of a black car with the same plate is shown on some publications. A third party claims to have bought the car and refurbished the interior and then painted it white.

Ms Cameron is said to have told the press that she intends shipping it back to the U.S.

None of which explains why the car was abandoned and there is nothing, other than the news reports and a photo of a Black car with the same plate to confirm the story.
