Had a question come through about paint codes and the E83W:
"... would like to paint it the original green but have no idea what the paint code was all we know is it was quite a dark shade of green. Any help with finding out the original paint code was would be great."
has anyone got a list of modern equivalent paint codes, or a list of the colour names that were used in the 40s and 50s as a starting point?

Rick, isnt there a trim identification plate on the E83W in question?
If there is, then the code will be on it, and its easy enough to get the formula if you have that.

Rick, this is really scraping the back of my memory now, but in the old days, some manufacturers 'baked in' (pun intended ) the paint code in the chassis number.
I'm sure someone like Scotty can confirm or deny this.....
