I guess it is inevitable that the day will come when the Lancaster will have to be retired. Considering the numbers that were available after WWII, maybe some foresight should have been applied.
But history teaches us that hindsight precedes foresight.

Just been reading about this, no-one hurt and the Lanc safely on the ground. Thumper couldn't be in safer hands, so look forward to seeing the old girl up in the air again soon. The Canadian Lanc had an engine issue when it was over here last year, these things happen.
