Some price difference. With Morrisons being 111 you can bet you boots Tesco will match it. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

£118.9p up here, just behind the back of beyond, but at least Diesel and petrol is the same.
Hoping to get to France in August, when we were there in April, Diesel was around 90p! _________________ KA

But you have to watch Tesco on price. If there's no competition locally they'll charge what they think they can get away with - I've known them charge 10p/litre more in Abertillery than in Newport or Cardiff. |

not locally to me, they are very close to sainsbury who consistently have the lowest price, I only use tesco once a month when my Good Wife has accumulated the saving for me.

My wife gets the clubcard money off each month, just means we have to tie in a journey to our nearest tescos which is about 10 mile away!?! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

A mate of mine is the COO for one of the larger supermarkets, he was telling me that they price fuel higher in less affluent areas..... why ?
Simply because folk in more affluent areas tend to travel out of their local area much more frequently so have more choice in where they buy their fuel and thus the competition is greater. The delta is only a penny or 2 , However a 2p increase on a product where they are only making 5p margin represents a 40% increase in profit.

I was reading today that the RAC reckon that because of the cost of a barrel that diesel will soon be £1 a litre. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |
