Now, don't get me wrong, I like a good hot rod. Some of them look great and have some very clever engineering going on in them. Sadly this is not a example of that. Its just a poor old Austin 16 that has been wrecked. Sad

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1949-Austin-16-rat-rod-hot-rod-rover-project-barn-find-classic/171878063817?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140407115239%26meid%3D87c7409818ee48ab95c611f25a5df62e%26pid%3D100204%26rk%3D11%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D191645922243

That engine placement just looks weird and I especially like the part in the description about the rod brakes being overhauled and working well! Shocked
I'm sure they'll do a great job of stopping this Rover V8 powered death trap when its doing 70mph on 16 inch cross-plys!

Don't agree with rodding at the best of times, this does not look right at all.

Even scrolling past that one in the listings, it looked pretty woeful. Reading the listing proper confirmed my initial thoughts.

Its a shame really, it sounds like it was a pretty solid and complete car before the angle grinder and welder came out...... Rolling Eyes

I imagine I could probably come up with a example of this sort of destruction from eBay and elsewhere weekly. Although that would make for a rather painful thread......

Yes! saw that yesterday with the same thought. Hopefully the buyer needs a Rover V8 for something - A rover maybe!!
