I'm on holiday in Normandy - the heart of WW2 action in 1944. The farmer next to us has what appears to be a genuine Willys Jeep - derelict and rusty but more or less complete. Still has US Army markings. Probably undiscovered as it's not visible from the road.
Are these worth restoring? Is it worth asking the farmer if he wants to sell? Not for me as I have too many other projects on the go. If anyone's interested I'll try to get some pics _________________ MG Magnette 1934 |

Definitely worth restoring but I expect the farmer would probably know that too! _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

I believe they're very valuable. Funnily enough squeaky Brewer and Ed were on TV last night importing one from America and doing various jobs on it. |

We have just come back from a week in Normandy, so much military stuff over there and very very interesting. My Brother is on the look out for a military GMC or the like. Not my cup of tea but I do appreciate them. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

They restored one of these in the first series of Car S.O.S. It had survived the war only to be ruined in an arson attack. The boys brought it back to life, of course, and much happiness to it's owner who I believe was not well. |

Since 'Saving Private Ryan' came out the value of WW2 jeeps has rocketed.. Even the price of spares in their original cardboard and greaseproof paper containers to the extent like they're all gold plated!
However, for those with less deep pockets, there's these guys...
