Amazing find isn't it, a few of the vans I wouldn't say no to.

I don't remember the last time I saw a Fiat 128 either, a pal's dad had one "back in the day" and used to thrash the thing mercilessly. More used to autos, he was a little vague when it came to manual gearboxes. On one occasion, he drove his "S" reg. 128 all the way to London in 3rd gear.

That looks like quite a few years ago now. I would love to know the whole story, mainly why? HOW?
As a FIAT fan how I would love to have had access to all that!
I guess they are all sold on now.
Does anyone know any more about it?

Sorry, folks; having researched a bit further, this story looks like it dates from 2008 - that's the problem with undated pages on the internet Embarassed

That's no problem Mike; it saves me kicking myself for "just" missing an auction or not having enough money to "steal" one of those beauties.
It looks like the son of the dealer, who inherited the collection, was just as laid back and apparently parted with much of it with private sales locally at reasonable prices. Very Happy

I read that some of it would struggle to get registered in Europe because it would fail current emission tests for new cars! I guess it would have been easier in the UK with the more reasonable attitude we have here to older vehicles.

Years ago my wifes uncle had a 133 but I cant remember if it was a Fiat or a Seat but it was a horrible little car. I briefly had a Fiat 131 it was a lovely big car but it was rotten and I eventually scrapped it.

My brother had a Fiat 124 Special T with that lovely 1.4 twincam motor that seems on occasion to find its way into Morris Minors these days.

It was a lovely car to drive and led me to respect those Lada Rivas as I remembered how nice the originals were..
