|
|
Every Wednesday evening, from last week 'til 27th October, The American Diner on Great Yarmouth seafront will play host to classic vehicles. Mainly Yanks are invited, but anything goes. They will be the only ones allowed on their car park.
21 vehicles made the first one a success & the newly revamped road system deters all the rice boys 'cos there's so many mini roundabouts!
Worth checking out if you're ever in the area. |

I believe the idea is an American theme, being a 50's diner and all. Don't let that stop you coming along - there was a Morgan type thing there last time I went.
Besides, it's more about car chat/having a few laughs/burgers & watching the fireworks. |

Thanks, Job-Rated
I might park just round the corner. Be seen arriving but not be presumptious about parking. |

Apparently, tonight will be the last meet where fireworks will be set off.
I'm more interested in the cars, anyway.
If talks go well with GY Police, it is hoped that the last meet on October 27th will see a section of the 'Golden Mile' cordoned off for a spot of 8th mile drag racing.
Can't wait!! |

There was a really good turnout this evening with 20+ vehicles & the fireworks were better for being twice as many.
Somehow, a Volvo 440 got onto the parking lot. Lord knows how that happened!! |

Volvo's from the late 80's & early 90's are starting to become popular within the retro car scene. When we bought our's hubby posted a few photo's on the Retro-Rides forum and they all wet their boxers & Y fronts over it!!! |

That's fair enough, but it did look kinda out of place amongst the Yanks & rods... |

Hi
The 340's are rarely seen on the roads are they, I used to see loads of them, but they are getting a bit rarer now, not that I would collect one! He he
I think rick may know someone that will be pleased that people are saying old volvo's are becoming wanted, he has been saying this for ages, hehe
I saw a 340 on a farm, was really far gone, and was being used as a stubble car, before being lifted into a grain wagon destined for scrap, bit of a shame really!
Cheers
Dave
