The paper mill in Ocean Falls BC closed in 1980's . I had a service station there for a few years, working on private vehicles and lots of sporty boats. We left after the place closed. One of my friends was the head mechanic for the mill, he gave me a call saying that I better bring a boat and come back for some treasures as the buildings were marked to be torn down.
All the outdated machinery was going for scrap. The paper mill was powered by Corless steam engines. I found the flyballs in a box in a dark corner. I had a great time finding these.
I like the last line in the Morris plaque
Guarantee ceases on the removal of this plate
just a small part of the brass collection- I found lots of large brass gauges
cheers

I think of all the engineering and manufacturers that have closed down in the Midlands , most of the machinery complete with plaques like these were probably just weighed in

That big brass GE plaque was fitted onto a huge steam turbine
and it looks like it had a lot of brass polishing in its day
